I have another red for Chanel. I especially love their rouge allure lipstick packaging, but this is the matte formula. An oldie but a goodie, and I can't believe this is not reviewed a long time ago.

I don't know if you can see the gloss on the swatch, but it does have a little shine, which is not suppose to. It is also not 100% pigmented, but you can build it up until it becomes a really rich berry red. It's so pretty. I love it. Among all the red lipsticks, I feel that this one is the one that compliment me the most. I guess cause it is not that red, more of a berry on my pigmented lip. Actually it is just a true blue based red.
I also love the way it applies - so smooth. I guess if have to compare between the rouge allure and rouge allure velvet, I prefer the velvet. The formula and texture is much nicer. It doesn't feel drying so that is good. But with most red lipstick, you have to use a liner, so that is the only problem I found with wearing bold colors. Then again, it looks great, so why not.
Honorable Mention: MUR Dare - I like it better a bit better cause of the no need liner bit, but you know Chanel is Chanel, and you can't brush Chanel aside.
