Winterize Your Nails: The Julep Guide (Plus Mine)

I've been busy, I've been lazy, I've been keeping my nails plain for weeks. If you are my friend, you will know that is not me at all. Nonetheless, I've been ignoring nail care for awhile and that is not acceptable. Especially when I just starting to work and the number of people I have to shake hands with is a ton. Thankfully no one cares. I guess I mostly deal with people in the food industry, so having non-painted nails is not a big deal to them. I would not have paid much attention until I saw an email by a representative of Julep. She brought me back to a time where I was still free to sit down and do whatever I want. I miss that and so I am going to balance my life between beauty, nail art and working adult stuff. The first will be caring for your nails and hands. Julep call it winterize, I call it Monsoonize?! Okay, ignore that. Singapore doesn't have winter, we only have sun or rain. Surprisingly, the weather had been cold these past few weeks though, so I g...

Best of '14: Luxury - Beauty Elixir

Some say it is magic in a bottle, some say it is overly raved, some say I want to try it, some say it is way too overprice. Well, I am the first of those some. I really do believe it is magic. I mean sure I may get brainwash by the price tag and the scent, but there is just something about it. For a small bottle, this cost almost S$20. That is really something, but when you are in Paris, you just have to buy it. Cause I want to. I get the mini one as it is cuter plus I do want to bring it around with me. First of all, the scent is just so refreshing. It is indeed a luxurious scent. I am not sure if it is cause I link it with the price, or if it already smells so expensive. Should do a test with someone who doesn't know about this. Secondly, facial mist is the best! It is just a great product to refresh you, to moisturise your face, to lift you up. You just feel so awake and good to go. Love it. Such a cooling sensation too. I know I know water works as well. Third, this is where th...

Best of '14: Tools - Mr Bunny

EcoTools and Real Techniques brushes are definitely on my top of best brushes ever. In fact all the random brand brushes that I am using are some that I love. You can say that I have a lot of brushes, that will be an understatement, but I also know that there are a lot out there that I've yet to try. So for this year, the recognition will have to go to Sigma's Mr Bunny Essential Brush Kit because it is the most expensive set I have at the moment. Pictured is the comparison between the full set and travel set. I bought the travel set last year. Sorry for the glaring pic. Anyway the set is much bigger and it actually comes in an oval case as compare to the round container of the travel kit. It is also much taller. Honestly I prefer the travel kit. The round container is so much easier to put in the brushes. Plus most of my brushes are not so long, that they fit and blend with the travel kit better. For now, the oval case will hide some of my brushes will barely peep through. So ...

Best of '14: The Body Shop - Atlas Mountain Rose

There are many brands out there that has wonderful smelling product, but nothing compare to the TBS. I love Lush too, but it's more of the overall scent that I like instead of the individual product. So, today best of '14 will be dedicated to the TBS. It is just so hard to go into TBS and just choose one thing. I will always stand there and decide if I want strawberry or passion fruit, then I will be but grapefruit is so yummy, oh new scent! Dilemma! But for this year, I will have to award it to the Atlas Mountain Rose. I got this for my birthday last year. Not a fan of roses, which is why I would never pick this out for myself. This one is awesome though. Surprisingly I reached out for the body spray so much more than my perfumes. The rose scent is not overpowering, which is nice. It is subtle and feminine, fresh and florally, a really clean refreshing scent. The scent of sweet rose will linger in the background. It is just the perfect thing to spray on in the morning to wake ...

Best of '14: Perfume - Narciso Rodriguez

I have been using this perfume for about 2 years now. Cause my cousins are using them too, so they always give me the 2ml samples. I finally got one bottle for Christmas last year, and I have been using this a lot especially night time. I don't know why, but I guess cause this is the EDP, so the scent is much stronger, that's why I prefer to spray this for evening outings. Even so, I still have a lot left. Musk remains at the heart of for her eau de parfum, enhanced by a rare weave of pink floral with hints of rose, peach pulp and soft amber. It is overall a very feminine sexy scent. I don't know how else I can put it. As I said I always use this whenever going out for dinner, so I really associate this with something much more classier. It is a just one perfume that I feel wont go out of style. Personally I love D&G Light Blue more, but that is more of a casual wear. While this is more a bit higher end. So ya, does that make sense?

Best of '14: Hair - Clarifying Shampoo

I've been looking for clarifying shampoo all over Singapore. Especially the ones recommended to me by you guys in the comments, but whenever I go Robinsons or somewhere that particular shampoo will be sold out. So when I saw this at iHerb , I was overjoyed. This is the Alba Botanica Clarifying Shampoo. It is for oily, overactive, natural or color treated hair. I used this like maybe once a week, or on days when I used too much hair product (hair spray, dry shampoo, etc). It can weeks that I don't touch this at all. So this lasted forever in my shower. It doesn't dry out my hair totally but I can feel really clean. It works fine like any other shampoo I used. I can even use this for 2 days straight. However if 3 days continuously I use this, I can feel feel my hair getting greasy super fast. So it really is just a shampoo to be used once a week to remove build up. So yes for clarifying shampoo, but I'll probably be finding a better one.

Best of '14: Brow - 3CE Eyebrow Mascara

This year I experienced with a lot of brow product. Cause this year I started to find better brows product. My brows are crazy. It's uneven which I know is normal, so it's alright I guess. I always wanted to try the Benefit GiveMeBrow, but I'm not sure how well it will work for me. Then I saw 3CE having this. It's the perfect time to try the product and the brand. And I love it. It's a brow brush applicator product like a mini mascara. It has a gel that's suppose to keep the brow in place. It's tinted so it help with covering the bald spot. It's just easy to use and helps to keep brows in place. The color also suits me quite alright. I think that the problem with this is the color as not everyone have the same color brow. The applicator brush has different lengths on each side. Not sure if can see clearly from the picture but it's all there. So it's good to grab on the tiny hair on the brows. But I think what I really like bout it is that it is f...

Best of '14: Lipstick - Rouge Allure Velvet in La Fascinante

I have another red for Chanel. I especially love their rouge allure lipstick packaging, but this is the matte formula. An oldie but a goodie, and I can't believe this is not reviewed a long time ago. I don't know if you can see the gloss on the swatch, but it does have a little shine, which is not suppose to. It is also not 100% pigmented, but you can build it up until it becomes a really rich berry red. It's so pretty. I love it. Among all the red lipsticks, I feel that this one is the one that compliment me the most. I guess cause it is not that red, more of a berry on my pigmented lip. Actually it is just a true blue based red. I also love the way it applies - so smooth. I guess if have to compare between the rouge allure and rouge allure velvet, I prefer the velvet. The formula and texture is much nicer. It doesn't feel drying so that is good. But with most red lipstick, you have to use a liner, so that is the only problem I found with wearing bold colors. Then agai...

Best of '14: Lip Balm - Smith's Rosebud Salve

Hi I'm FY and I'm a lip balm addict. I've tried a lot of lip balm and I am still trying and will be trying more. This year though, I pretty much been using Smith's Rose nightly. To be perfectly honest, I prefer Shill's Rosebud Balm. I think the texture is much nice and it is just more effective. But as this "choice" is for the year 2014, it deserves to go to one that I'd used the most. I enjoyed using them both but ya you know. A lot of people swear by this, and I can see why. Texture is like petroleum jelly, but I guess it is actually helpful in the long run. As I heard petroleum jelly only help to cure dryness for the moment but will get worse later on. This one is nice on the lips. I like that it can be applied on dry hands too. I also like that I still can feel a bit of balm left when I wake up. It does leave your lips feel smooth, it does help chapped lips. But I feel that if your lips are very cracked, very flakey, it doesn't help as much. It...

Best of '14: Mascara - Macrolash

If you have been reading this my blog, thank you by the way, then you will know that one of my favourite mascara is the Canmake gokunobi mascara . It is just a natural mascara. Still not the best, but good enough. This year I found Macrolash; good enough, plus I enjoy using it the most this year. Macrolash is meant to create dramatic false lash affect. With the duo  mascara that you are suppose to use one after another. One tube is the normal mascara, and the other is the micro fiber. You pretty much have to apply 3 coats. First you have to coat your lashes with the mascara, then apply the fibers, lastly sealed it all up with another coat of the mascara. Personally I do not like the 3 steps, as I really don't see any difference in doing that. I just felt that the fibers kept falling off or it didn't stick in the first place. But what I do love about this, is the mascara itself. It is just natural. Ok, don't say love, like is more appropriate. The mascara is a normal one. Th...

Best of '14: Cheeks - ELF Conturing Blush & Bronzing Powder

For cheeks, this year I've been using the ELF duo a lot. Ever since I got it, it is the blush that I kept reaching out most of the time. Part of it is that I put this in my daily makeup bag, so that is why. Why it is in my makeup bag is cause it has a bronzer in it too. Plus the mirror really helps. I don't use my makeup in front of my dressing table. I usually sit on the bed with a hand mirror nearby. My dressing table is beside my bed, so I will pop my head to look in the mirror on occasion. And so I put the makeup I use daily in a makeup bag that I can just haul over onto my bed. So I really like this cause it is two product in one. Convenient for me and maximize my bag space. People say it's a dupe for the NARS Orgasms blush, but I really don't think so. I am no expert as I don't have the NARS blush but the blush here is much more lighter. There isn't much pigment which is good and bad. Good in that you don't have to be careful and use a light hand. You ...

Best of '14: Face - Maxfactor 3in1 Foundation

This is a tough one. I like a lot of foundations, bb and cc creams. But ultimately I had decided that I like this one more. Its 3in1 claim do live up to its name. It'l does prime and conceal too. Why I say that is because it is long lasting and a really full coverage foundation. I guess medium to full is more accurate but it does help concealing and you don't have to use anymore concealer. It just helps to even out skin tone. This shade is too light at first. But it oxidize on you so it becomes the perfect shade. I didn't know what shade I am when I asked my friend to buy this for me. So it just work out well in the end. But ya, it's a really good foundation.

Best of '14: Eyeshadow - Chocolate Bar

The one eyeshadow I feel deserve a big shout out is this Chocolate Bar palette. I am just so in love with it. Not only it is the palette I used the most, it is also the one thing I buy without waiting for a sale. Usually when I shop, I buy things on impulse. If not, it will be a sale that drives me to purchase the stuff. So this is not an impulse purchase, that's why I treasured it so much. I do wish the palette is a bit thinner, but that is my only complain about it. Just look at the design - a chocolate bar - you'll love it already. Next, the scent. Mama Mia, it smells like chocolate. Well like cocoa powder, but it smells so yummy. The colors are neutral with a couple shades for a pop of color. There are a blend of matte and shimmer. Pigmentation is good. Shadows smooth to the touch, easy to blend and overall a good quality product. I bought this for $69 at Sephora. I like the outer packaging, which is the only cardboard box I kept ever. It also comes with 3 how-to which is n...

Best of '14: Mask - Avocado and Mango Hydrating Facial Mask

It just so happen that avocado is my favorite fruit and mango is my second. I just had to right. This smells so good that its really fun to put on. This year is not a good skin year, I used so much pimple cream, that my skin became so dry. So moisturizing is really important for me. I tried a lot of masks, but I really had to give it to MT just for fact that I love the mask without even using it. But I mean really, it is a good mask. A hydrating facial mask that restores skin's youthful appearance. It is really hydrating. And it is not a thick mask. Just apply and wait for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off. I can't remember how much I bought this for but it is not crazy expensive. It's just a bit hard to get hold off in Singapore.

Best of '14: Skincare - Biotherm PureFect Skin Trio

A travel size skincare set for combination to oily skin. Anti-shine Purifying Cleansing Gel is a light watery gel like texture. It's super gentle and cleanse well. It smells really nice too. Micro-exfoliating Purifying Toner is a typical toner. I don't really finds anything special with toner, as most of them are the same I feel. This evaporates off your face quite quickly. So it is quite nice to use as you don't have to wait for long do rather next step. Pure Skin Effect Hydrating Gel is a light weight gel texture moisturizer. I really like that it is gel and it sinks into the skin fast. Everything is 5ml except the toner which is 20ml. But for once, I used this up quite quickly. Usually 5ml can last me for 8 uses, these though just 4 times. The toner I can use longer. So overall it is a good combination of skincare that I really enjoy using this year. It does what it claimed to be and I do recommend it for anyone with combi to oily skins. Honorable mention: Sulwhasoo T...

Elf Matte Lip Color in Natural

From the picture, it looks so mauve and wash out. In reality, it highlights my crack lips but it's a pretty neutral shade. I like the idea of the ELF lip color that is smaller than a regular lip pen but bigger than the typical lip liner. Its size is just right to color in your lips. But as a matte lip color, it is quite drying. It emphasize on the dryness and cracks. It is also not so mattifying. The reviews out there is mixed. Some love it, some hate it. I guess it really depend on your lips. If you tend to have dryer lips, you'll probably hate it as it is not a moisturizing lip product.

No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Soft Damson

This is the lightest shade of blush I have. It's quite pigmented when swatched. But since the shade is a light pink. It's very natural. I love it as it's so easy to apply. It doesn't show up much. But still have that evidence that you did put something on your cheek. So ya even in a rush, you will not mess up.

Kneipp Lemongrass and Olive samples

I have the body wash. It's horrible. It doesn't lather well. It kind of just slide off. Not sure if a bad batch or actual product is like that. The scent also doesn't stay on. So really it's not a useful product. The body lotion on the other hand, is alright. Has a scent of lemongrass and olive as what's stated. Drying time is ok. Not sticky. So it's quite good actually.

Boots Tea Tree Witch Hazel Cleansing & Toning Wipes

Bought this cause I just had to. It's alright. The sheet is big. But the texture is quite dry. It is jut not good enough to remove makeup properly. So it's just a good sheet for cleansing something light and toning. Just for after a no makeup day.

Style Aromatherapy Anti-Dandruff Hair Moisture

I'm really not sure what this is. It's said a hair styling product, but it's more like a conditioner to me. They say to use onto dry or damp hair. Not to rinse and start styling hair by hair or brush. It doesn't harden or really do anything. It just makes my hair softer. And smells good though. Like the salon. I like it. Updated: oh wait, silly me. The style part is its brand. The product is a hair moisturizer. For dandruff and scalp care. Ok. No wonder. It's a leave-in hair treatment. Not sure about dandruff care, but I guess this is light enough that even dandruff scalp won't have a problem using this.

Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Aurora

I just had to. I picked up Aurora as I just like sleeping beauty. The color happens to be good too. It's a slight glittery muted pink. So it's pretty natural for daily use. It's not overly pigmented, I mean it's a good pigment for lipgloss but I guess I'm comparing it to a liquid lipstick. Anyway, I like it as it doesn't really show my pigmented lip. So it's more color. It's not overly glittery also. In fact you can barely see it. It smells really sweet. Plus it is not overly sticky. After about using for 2 months, I find that the gloss get more gloppy. It's just different in consistency than the first time I use it. It's thicker and not so smooth to apply. Still wearable but it's just stickier. Not sure if it is for all the gloss or I just happen to create a bad reaction. Considering it is like £7 each, it is not a cheap gloss too. I would try the rest of the collection just for the sake of it. But I think if you are pondering, you should g...

Caudalie Fluer de Vigne

Shower gel that is non irritating and soap free. I don't get the soap free part. If it's for the shower, don't we need soap? Anyway, this gel totally doesn't lather on. It doesn't foam up, which it isn't a foaming gel I get that, but it is just weird to use something in the shower that doesn't at least bubble a little. Other than that, this smells wonderful and surprisingly quite moisturizing. However it doesn't linger on, so I really think this is quite a waste of money for daily use. It is nice to use once in awhile to pamper yourself after a bubble bath, but that's about it.

VMV Hypoallergenics id Monolaurin Gel and Re-everything Lotion

Re-everything face-hand-body lotion is a multi purpose lotion that is really convenient to use. I find that it is just a light weight moisturiser. But once applied, it became thicker. It feels kind of sticky. I find that it's a better body lotion than as a moisturiser. It is fragrance free, but I always kind of smell a sour scent. So it's just a bit unpleasant to use. It also hurt to use over pimples. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. The id Monolaurin Gel is quite a "weird" product. I say weird cause I find that it resemble a hand sanitizer. The gel texture is cooling and very anti septic feel. When I have a bug bite, I'll just apply it. Doesn't really help much with acne, so I don't really think anything about it. Maybe I just don't really know how to use it.

Effaclar Mat Sebo-regulating Moisturiser

Cause I bought a lot, so I was given this free. I can't believe I went to Paris and never buy anything from La Roche-Posay. So I am so glad I got this as a free sample. And now I regret not buying it. It's a gel like moisturizer that feels like a silicon face primer. So it's really fun to put on. Plus it is anti-shine and anti-larger pores, so it really is just the perfect moisturiser for me. I really like it and it makes my face really smooth. If you are like me and hate putting on primer, this is the moisturiser for you. Even not, it is still moisturizing. I guess this is targeted for those with oily skin. If you are heading to France, I suggest giving this a try. Even if you are not going to France, I'll still say to give it a go. Not sure how those dry skin will handle it though.

Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream

Love this eye cream. I really do feel a difference using this. Not that extreme but it does help with reducing puffiness. Helps but doesn't eliminate it completely. I guess if up use it more, then it will be better, but this is only a 3ml sample. Without a proper container, some of it near the opening got dry out. So some do get wasted. Nonetheless, I still managed to use this for a long time. This suppose to moisturise and improve firmness. Suppose reduce appearance of fine line and wrinkles. Not sure about that, but I do like this eye cream, so I might just buy the full size.

Klarity Lasertox CC Miracle White Lotion

This is said to be the first CC cream with no colorant. Plus it is suppose to give you a one tone lighter skin tone. I am really intrigue. It does brighten the face, a sure whitening product. Doesn't makes your face look pale though. I really like it. It helps to moisturise the face without it looking oily. It's a really good product. Especially good for those days when I look super tired. It just brighten the face up and makes me look more awake. Plus I just need to use this and I'm covered, well plus concealer. So no moisturiser, no sunblock. Just a lazy day remedy. I like it, but I wouldn't repurchase this. Not sure why I would not, but I just wouldn't. Maybe when there is nothing else for me to try, I'll go back to using this, but for now I'm happy without it. I guess there are just some days when I'm happy with my actual skin tone that I don't want to look whiter. I don't know, what you guys think of this product?

Sexy Look Escargot Extract mask

4D mask for repair and healing. It is cooling on first application. A bit too tight for my liking. I just feel that it strain my ears a bit. I mean I do like that it comes with the neck piece, but it just tug on my ears. Even though it said escargot which is snail, I don't find it gross. It doesn't smell or anything, it is just a normal mask. I like that it doesn't have an extra plastic sheet. The mask itself is made of pure cotton or what it claimed to be. I can't tell the difference. It is just not thin and transparent like some masks I've tried. So it is nice, cause it is not so fragile. Overall it is quite a relaxing mask to use. Not sticky, moisturizing, it's comfortable on the skin. So I do like it and will repurchase.

UV Expert GN-Shield BB Complete

Lancôme has 2 of these, one with and one without color. So this is the sunscreen with color. I guess it is more like a bb cream. It is very light and the texture is really like sunscreen. I like it. SPF 50 didn't hurt too. Plus it has a nice floral scent. What I really like about this is that it leaves my skin looking matte. It will stay that way with a finishing powder for around 5 hours. So it is not bad, and I never expect that at all. So this is a good sunscreen and I do recommend to anyone who wants to a sunscreen without the grease. Not sure about the price though.

Trio Eyeshadow in Chocolate Box

Love the trio shadows from MUA. So pigmented. So lovely. Chocolate Box is very dark and brown on the lids. When swatch, it is actually quite soft in comparison. Maybe it's just my lids. The colors to me: Purple bronze with taupe Metallic cream popsicle Brown with red undertone I have too much eyeshadows. But I really love these MUA palette trio. The price is really good for the quality of the shadows. It just a bit bulky and can be messy. But it is just so good. Love it. I think they don't sell this anymore as I don't see it on their website, a waste I feel. Then again, I don't really like the bulk. So nevermind.

Color Pop Shine Tint in #06 Bunny Pop

My awesome friend gave me this knowing my love for makeup. Étude House has been around Singapore for a long time but I've never try any of their product. So this is a good chance. Plus I've been loving lip stains if I'm not wearing dark lips. This smells lovely. It's not as thick as other stains. It's quite on the watery side. The consistency is smooth. It is quite easy to apply. The light pink doesn't really reflect on my lips. When swatch, it's a gorgeous pink. I really wish it will reflect better on my lips. However since my lips are quite pigmented the color doesn't show through. It looks fine on photos but in real life it is darker on my lips. It does stain the lips but it doesn't last. I feel like there can be better stain out there with this kind of consistency. So we shall see, hopefully I do find a better one.

LM Foundation Powder

Shade no 1 which is obviously too light for me. So most of the time I will use this for under the eyes as a setting powder. It is quite a light coverage. Even when dust all over the face, it just shows enough. Only around the nose area appears to be quite cakey. This is not an oil control powder, so after 2 hours, I will be be able to start seeing my T-zone getting shiny. Since this is not the right shade for me, I don't use this on its own. So it's actually a redundant product for me. I just can't bear to get rid of it as the powder is really soft. It is just so smooth. Even after using a lot of time, I still haven't hit pan, and it's still smooth. I can't say that it is finely mill as it is quite powdery but it doesn't fall out so that's nice. I don't know if I should get this in a shade that fits me. I do like the powder but I kind of find it useless. So it will be just a waste of money. So, if you don't have oily skin, I do recommend this pow...

LM Smooth Finish Foundation Powder

Have I mentioned I love tiny travel size product? Got this from Bellabox I think. The box said that this is an oil-free powder. For a sheer to medium coverage, use it with the sponge in a patting motion. You can also use it to get medium to full coverage by dampening the sponge. I love how it comes with a mirror, but a bit useless as you can only see part of your face. And since it's so tiny, there is not place to put the sponge. The foundation is alright, it does cover beautifully. And the shade is 04, which is too pink for me, but it somehow blends into my skin alright. It doesn't look to light, just the tone I guess. I am neither warm nor cool, so it works well either way, just that around the jaw where you test the shade, it is not 100% perfect. The only problem I have with this is that it is not an oil control powder. So it just leaves my skin looks good for about an hour. Then after, I will start to get oily around the T-zone. So that's the only problem I have with th...

LM Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact

With a nice SPF 20, it was the ideal product to travel with. It is not as messy as liquid foundation. The packaging is not the most sleek, but it is alright. It is not their usual dark purple case, but the color of its primers (tube) counterpart. There is a mirror and a separate department for storing the sponge. Application is with said sponge and so it is really easy. Tinted moisturizers are not full coverage, but this can be layered without looking cakey. I got the shade Blush which is the perfect shade for me. When swatch, it looks lighter but blends it out and it matches my skin tone. So finally I got one that is a good match for me. I prefer this as compare to the liquid one. The application is better. The con is that this is not meant for oily skin. So it is pretty pointless using this, after 2 hours my face will get really oily. Heck even after blotting, it gets oily after 5min. So that is really the only thing I don't like about this. I know I should get for oily skin, but...

LM Secret Camouflage

My favorite of all Laura Mercier that I've tried so far has to be this baby right here. There used to be a time when people raved this product. Sure at first impression, it doesn't blown my mind away. I find that after a few uses, like once you get rid of the first layer on the pan, it just gets better. It is a really creamy and easy to blend. Doesn't look caked up when layered. It covered beautifully so just one layer is enough. As I said it is creamy, but for some reason, it just sits on your face really thinly. This is the shade SC-2, and it comes with 2 shades. One is a natural skin tone shade, and the other is more salmon like. The latter is my go to under eye concealer. It is just the perfect shade to cover those black circles. Just a thin layer is enough to cover them up. The best part is, it doesn't crease and stays on forever. Well not forever, but it is good enough for a quite a long day. I use the other one for my pimples or redness. The color is a bit too li...

Elf Powder Brush

Beauty Broadcast raves about this brush, so I just had to get one since my EcoTools one kind of get out of shape (brush guard is important). I really like this. It is just one of the best powder brush ever. It is a flat top brush, really soft and fluffy. Quite dense, but still bouncy. For US$3 it really is great. Even though there are a couple if strays which I just pluck it out with tweezers. That's all, and you have the perfect brush. It doesn't shed when washing. Plus I don't need a brush guard for it to keep its shape. Of course I have to hang it upside down though. But yes, I recommend this brush as it is the cheapest nicest powder brush out there.

ModelCo Lip Enhancer Illusion Nude Lip Liner

Got this from a UK magazine. It is suppose to be a universal lip liner that helps to enhance the lips. The liner is a nude shade. It is easy enough to use, quite creamy to line. Shading all over the lips is easy too but once on the lips, it is quite drying. It also will emphasize the dryness of the lips. I like the pencil as it has a build in sharpener so it makes sharpening easier. I wouldn't buy it if given the option, but since it's free, it is not bad. Doesn't work as well as a color keeper, so it is not recommended to use with darker lip colors. But I think this is just for giving an illusion of smaller or bigger lips depending on your skin tone, I'm not sure too.

Korres Soft Touch Lip Pen in Dark Purple

Yay to fall! Still so sunny in Singapore though. I love wearing darker lips, but only in the evenings. I feel weird using them when the sun is still so bright. This is a really dark vampy lip color. Really cool on the lips. Dark, sexy, mysterious. I really like it but I'm also quite self conscious wearing this. The good thing though is that it is so dark, that it looks more of a deep burgundy red on the first look. If you look longer than you'll see that it's actually a dark purple. Really cool. It is not just a boring dark berry shade. So love the color. The formula is smooth and creamy. Even it does have a little sparkle in the color, it barely is noticeable. It just makes the color shine. Only problem is that it is messy to apply. So a lip liner is a must. You can also just use a little and use your finger to smooth over the color and left it just like a stain. It's just so pretty. A purple stain on the lips. It just doesn't help to brighten up the face though, i...

First Impression: Ace Liposome Ace Renewal & Repairing Mask

You know how I don't like masks that have extra layer of plastic to help keep its shape, this has 2 extra layers. At first I don't know why the mask is so weird. After getting rid of the white plastic sheet, there is just this blue thing that makes putting the mask very uncomfortable. Plus it is just way too big. So you see, it just looks weird. Then I read the instruction. It said to put it on and make it perfectly fit then peel off the blue layer. The hard part is positioning it, the mask doesn't stick onto my face, it kept sliding off. I had to remove the blue sheet holding the mask away from my face. Then I had to readjust the thin mask back onto my face. Too messy for my liking. So this mask is for revitalizing, anti-aging and whitening. Doesn't irritate my skin so that is good. The only other thing I feel after using this mask is how sticky it made my face feel. It is just too rich for me? Even though reviews said that oily skin tend to have poor absorption of ski...

Vivo Baked Shimmer Palette

Love baked product, especially food. What I wouldn't do for a freshly baked bread right now. Anyhow, this is quite unexpected. For the picture online, I thought it will be a much more neutral palette. I guess not. This is in shade Divine and comes with a blush and 4 shadows. The blush is really beautiful. A bit too shimmery for my liking though. It looks really bright as in dark on the packaging, more like a deep pink, but when swatch, it's just a pigmented pink shade. It is pretty, but the shimmer just makes me not use it very much. Like all baked products I tried, these are smooth and pigmented. However the colors I picked up is just something I don't use much. Yellow and green, when will I ever touch that? I am not daring enough to use those colors on my lids. Yellow can appear light green, while the green can be more teal. They're pretty not gonna deny that, but it is just something to look at. The other two colors are more wearable. A gorgeous brown and a darker on...

First Impression: Palmer's smoothing shampoo

Extra virgin olive oil for shiny hair is to smooth out frizzy hair, replenish moisture and nutrients and remove product buildup. I used this on the day where I have a lot of product on my hair. I used a lot of hair foam and dry shampoo. So I thought it was a good time to try this. It is quite a foaming shampoo. After rinsing, my hair is quite strip out if moisture. So it really does get rid of buildup. But any shampoo used in a day, it will be fine for me. So it is not a good test to see how good this shampoo is. Well, more of how good is this shampoo for me. Well at least it smells good.

Tea Tree Oil

I tried a few of tea tree oil products from TBS, but never just the oil. So this is just a little sample of 1ml. I expected 1ml to be so much less than that. Now I know why I can always use sample for more than one time. Anyway, I am sad to say that the tea tree oil doesn't do anything for skin. Just like everything from the line that I've tried, it doesn't work. So it's disappointing.

La Prairie Age Management Balancer

My aunt doesn't like this so she gave me. If there is one thing I have a lot of at home is toner. She said this is the most expensive toner ever. Not sure about that as I don't know how much this cost. This is 250ml though, so that's a lot. Probably that factor in the cost. I am not big on the smell. It just has a very strong artificial alcohol scent. I also feel that it is just a toner just like any other. I don't really see how this helps my skin. I have toner that I actually like using, which I really think is normal. But the point is I enjoy using it. This, I don't really like using it. It does its job though. It helps to get rid of leftover residue so that's good. Still, I don't think it is worth the price. Have anyone use this?

Ck Creme Lipstick in Ethereal

I guess ck is suppose to be a higher end brand, however their packaging is kind of cheap. It is just a plain black plastic. So I am not a big fan of their packaging considering the price. The lipstick is creamy and has a scent of starburst. I feel like eating them every time I open the cover. It swatched beautifully. It just doesn't cover the lips nicely. It shows the lines and emphasize on the cracked lips. So I will only recommend this for people who has smooth lips. The color is a neutral pink. But it is more bright on the lips. Still a light pink, but just not appear brighter on the lips, despite me having pigmented lips. I really like how it swatch, and I really wish the color will appear that way or that the formula will be better. So that is too bad.

Dermedex Challenge Pack

The challenge is to use these 2 products for 3 days to get better skin. Challenge accepted. Biotox cleanser [10g] is quite nice, quite minty. It feels like a cream, but it lathers on quite smoothly. It doesn't foam up. Even though it says it will. It said you can use this as a mask, but seeing the texture if it, I don't see how it can be use as such. Too fragile, the consistency that is. Oh, it will foam up if I use quite a lot. But the instruction say to just use a tiny amount. Biotox refining cream 2 [5g] smells really weird, like ulcer medicine, Bonjela. So it is really unpleasant to put on. Overall thoughts: only the first day I feel that this product is really working. The rest of the time, sure it dry out my blemishes, but that is it. It doesn't improve it. Therefore, challenge failed!

Missha BB

You can't see from this bad quality picture, but the bottle is really gorgeous. The product is also in swirl alternating between white and beige. The white being the moisturiser and the beige the foundations. It's just really fun to look at. Plus the more you use, the product will go up instead of down, so it's really nice to see. Plus it doesn't expose with the air in the container, makes it last longer. The bb cream has a really nice texture, almost like a gel. I guess it can also feel like a mousse, but less bouncy. It is smooth and so easy to apply. It is nice using fingers to apply, which is the best way to use this. I only need one pump to cover my whole face. Not a really great pump, cause you have to tilt the bottle and it doesn't come out smooth as it is thicker than most liquid foundation. So some cream can land on the bottle. It is quite a light medium coverage. Doesn't cover under eye blackness though. It is whitening, so it does cover redness. Anywa...
