Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker

Lovely is a soft, powdery, discrete and very intimate fragrance, announced as 'silky white amber'. It possesses an elegance characteristic of classic fragrances. And yet the fragrance is quite modern and very charming. It opens with soft citruses (nectarine and bergamot) and woody (rosewood) notes, with a touch of lavender, which is very discreet and not at all sharp. The fragrance develops further with notes of apple martini, white daffodil and orchid. The base unites white amber, cedar, woody notes and white musk. I kind of like the smell of this. It's a rather strong scent that linger long after you spray them. I am used to Eau De Toilette which is not as strong as perfume, so I may get carried away using this. Even though normally I spray it three time, two on the front and one back, with Lovely, it is too strong. I really feel one spray is enough. Lovely is rather cheap in term of perfume prices. Which make me wonder if it is not good enough. Oh well I like the scent ...

The artiste collection

I just had to buy all the MUA product, don't I? So I got my hand on the artiste collection palette. I find that it will be nice to have everything in one palette. It will be so much more convenient for oversea trips. Plus I don't have any highlighter. This is what the whole palette looks like.

The $20 makeup challenge

Hello, today this blog turn 1. I did managed to get rid a lot of products that are old. Kind of proud about that, however I have subsequently collected more. In the process of blogging things down and throwing them out, I fell in love with makeup. I find that I want more. So even though I have more toys now, it is alright, as I actually use them. This blog has taught me a whole bunch of things, like skin care, makeup, application, myself, etc. I am more dedicated to my skin care regime and caring more about how I look. It is still a learning process, and I thank you for following through this journey with me. I thought it will be fun to do something different. The $20 makeup challenge is one of the most popular tag on YouTube. So I decided to do a post on my version of $20 makeup challenge products. I have to roughly convert it to Sing dollar and since makeup is generally more expensive here, therefore it will be less item for S$25.40. For the past few days, I've used only the it...

EOS

Strawberry sorbet smells super super nice. The scent is exactly like strawberry sorbet. I still love the lip balm. It's moisturizing, after you break it. The hard dome shape makes it a bit waxy. But once you swipe it off, it becomes so much better. It's clear and not minty. Great for a base. I love the packaging as its just so unique and round. Great for putting on the table. My 11 years old sister love it. She doesn't wear make up. Doesn't like make up. But she likes "the egg" as she calls it. She doesn't like mint too. So this is perfect for her and she loves the scent too.

Blotting powders

This is my favorite powder. Cause it is small and compact and blue and looks super groovy. It's the ZA Groovy Smoovy. This is not exactly transparent. It goes on a bit whitish on my face. But I just need to smooth it with my hand and I'm good to go. It takes off the oil and shine in my face. It goes on smooth and really light. Been loving this more as said to blotting papers, as it control the shine better. Plus it looks cuter, and not as gross when you touch up your face in public places(ladies room). It cost $17.90. So it's on the pricier side with just a 5g(.17oz) worth of product. Oh, I do wish it came with a mirror. But I do go through these powders really quick. I have only 2 MAC product to date. One is this and the other was the Studio Fix powder. People get puzzle when they know I love makeup but I don't own any MAC product, especially the lipstick. Anyway, I love both powders I tried. One is a blotting powder, the other just a cover up powder. Before I used fou...

Garnier overnight whitening peeling cream

With pure lemon essence, it smells lovely. Easily blend onto the skin. At first it feels weird as you feel that there is something on your face. Eventually you are used to it. It gives off a dewy/glossy finish, which is not something I like. For a peeling cream, it's suppose to peel your skin? Upon extra googling research, I found that it actually suppose to peel off the dull skin and remove dark spots while you are sleeping. So when you wake up, you are suppose to have whiter skin. In the morning, my face is visibly brighter. A least that's what I feel. It wasn't oily which is good. I guess it's better for oily to normal skin. You have to use it for 28 days to really see the result(reduce dark spots, fairer skin). But I only managed to use this for 10. Overall, I do like this but not enough to buy the full size. I feel there are better night cream out there.

ZA eye and lip make up remover

I got this free with the purchase of the mascara. It's as good as any make up remover. I think it's comparable as the L'oreal one. In fact it is better as it remove my eye makeup better. And I just love that this is a travel size, so I can bring this instead when I go overseas. The smell though, it just has this bit of rubbing alcohol scent. Plus the opening is too small for the tip of Q-tip.

Shiseido eyeliner

D2 Desert Dusk The colors are pretty. One matte one shimmery. Bronze and gold. A simple eyeliner. Double-ended which is nice. Easy to draw on. Was not that thick. Smudge proof to a certain extend. I can't apply eyeliner, but I like playing with them. Since practice makes perfect, I'm sure one day I'll master them.

Neutrogena hydro boost gel

Gel SPF 30 PA++ provides up to 4 times more moisture to dry skin continuously over 12 hours. It shield skin from darkening and photo damaging rays. This smell amazing, like watermelon. Love it. It's watery and easy to apply. I tend to get carried away and use more than I needed. I just like the scent. It is indeed lightweight, just like water. It is really hydrating too. I guess it's really good for people with dry skin( Duh! The description said it provides moisture to dry skin. Face palm self! ), or just normal skin who went out under the sun a lot. In Singapore that's pretty much all the time. For my oily skin though, it was good at first, but my skin get oily after a couple of hours. I was just wearing this and nothing else as I did not went out. So ya, it's not for me. But the scent is what made me used it up. Under a really good foundation it is really good. Doesn't get oily fast. So ya not bad. Worth trying it out. I don't know the full price though.

Color tattoo in tough as taupe

I wanted bad to the bronze, but I got this instead. I thought it will be a nice neutral color, but it is more grey than brown. I am sure everyone know about the awesomeness of this. So I wouldn't go into detail. But ya it is great. Last a long time, creaseless, great on its own, fantastic as a base. The color will eventually fade, but after 12 hours, it still can be seen, just not as much as when first applied. The best application I find is by using your finger. I really want to use a brush though, but I don't have the tool that perform as well.

Silkygirl Moisture Rich Lipsticks

I bought 2 more of these during their one for one sale. I pick up Pure, a nice natural color. I would say it is rather brown with a pink tone. These lipsticks are moisturising and has a creme finish. It doesn't last long though. I do however think it is worth when you buy it at $6, as it still leave some colors after 3 hours. It sort of like tint your lips without staining it. So even without touch up, you do not have a plain looking lips. The second one is Appealing. It is much more brighter and has a more orange tone in it. More coral, I would say. I am not so keen on this color, as it can look a bit caked on, if that make sense. So you really have to apply this lightly. I just like to tap this onto my lips instead of sliding it across.

Maybelline pure bb mineral

This is BB UV which (I research) was marketed for Japan. I bought this in Hong Kong though. I was attracted by the clean white packaging and the high SPF. Since the clear smooth bb cream work pretty good on me, I thought I gave this a try. I seriously have a love hate relationship with this. Some days, it gave me the most fab flawless looking face, other days way too caked. I guess I have problem with mineral products. Really have mix review about them. Anyway, like most bb cream, this just come in one shade, which is a little light on my face. Especially now with the scorching sun in this tiny island. I am a bit darker than usual. But this oxidize after awhile. While the color is close to my color, it's too yellow. I find that this work best under naked face, meaning no moisturizer. I guess it is bad, but it works well for me. Cause I'm always been in a hurry, so this arrangement work pretty well. No break out which is good. The bad thing is I have to wait for it to set on my...

Shampoo, tried and tested

Klorane seboregulating treatment shampoo with nettle extract for oily prone hair. I went to the USA and UK website, but they do not have this version. Anyway this shampoo is good. I like it, smells good too. No fancy scent but it was not bad. Pretty hard to lather it up. In the end I tend to pour more than needed. If you want to wash your hair less frequently, there is a more practical and rapid solution: KLORANE Dry seboregulating shampoo with nettle extract. If you have an oily scalp and dry ends, you can use KLORANE Seboregulating treatment shampoo with nettle extract.

More baby lips color lip balm

I got 3 more baby lips. I wanted to get 4 but cherry was sold out. So now I have 4/5 of these babies. I really wish my lips are not so pigmented. Maybe the color would show better. Just look at the picture below. From left to right: Pink Lolita, Berry Crush, Rose Addict and Coral Flush Surprisingly, the lightest color(packaging) show up the most on my lips. Not exactly the color shown, but just a hint of color. That's why Pink Lolita is my favorite. It is more noticeable than Berry Crush. And you can see Rose Addict is actually the most sheer. Coral Flush gives an interesting orange hint. I kind of like it as it's not the usual pink. It just feel refreshing having that color on your lips. The application, texture, moisture, lasting power is the same for all. I love to use it before I go to bed. And when I'm rushing, I will apply this in the lift. It gives a hint of color, so at least you don't look dead. Plus it's just a lip balm with SPF so you can't go wrong ...

Mario Badescu enzyme cleasing gel

Enzyme cleansing gel is a non-drying cleanser. It got rid of my makeup easily. Even though the website say to avoid the eye area, I used it for removing my eye makeup too. Using this brings me back to my stay at the resort in Bali. It just smell like a resort type of soap. Plus washing your face, you close your eyes, so I just get there mentally. So not only it smell fresh and relaxing, this doesn't strip of moisture on my face. It just clean gentle and remove makeup residue. Really liking it, but I'm just into the scent. I am afraid of product that say suit all skin type . It just gives me the impression that it will be better suited for dry skin. But this isn't bad for oily skin. I really think it suits all skin type. I will miss the resort feel the most.
